Intercessory Arrow: Target Weakness

archery-arrow

While in the season of great transition we become aware of our weaknesses and areas of vulnerability. Instead of despairing and coming in agreement with these weaknesses and allowing it to fuse onto our identities or manifest in our personalities, shore up those places of short comings with the Word of God, prayer, and apply the Blood of Jesus. Allow time for healing, restoration, and regrouping to take place, in other words take the pressure off of yourself and open up space in your life for God to work on, in, and through you.

This word of encouragement is especially for intercessors who have been really pouring out for others and contending for the promises of God to be realized so that the glory of God will be released. Do not neglect yourself, your relationship with God, or ignore the need for healing and restoration when the weaknesses are exposed to you. It is the grace of God that He is bringing these issues to your attention in order for you to prepare for the season ahead. It is the mercy of God that He is allowing time for us to bring these weaknesses, whatever they may be, before Him to liberate us, strengthen us, and realign us with His purposes and plans. Therefore recognize  this awesome opportunity to “come up higher” and mature beyond the weaknesses and short comings that do not work in our lives. Bring your issues to Him with a grateful heart, for your time of incubation in the cocoon of His Presence will develop the wings of love and grace that you need to soar in the seasons ahead.

This is between you and God. Take your cares, issues, weaknesses, and short comings to the Lord yourself. While it is tempting to ask others for agreement in prayer (and you should do that if you are being led by the Holy Spirit), however praying this through yourself will increase your fellowship with the Lord and increase your sensitivity to His voice. Leviticus 7:29 – “Tell the people of Israel that anyone bringing a thanksgiving offering to the Lord must bring it personally with his own hands.”

target-arrowDo what needs to be done- it is for God’s glory! This time of bringing our concerns to the Lord really is about cleaning and sanctification. We need to do this so that we can be a vessel that is clean and ready for use by the Lord. Yes, he can use us in whatever state we are in, however sanctification and consecration process is more for us than it is for Him. It is so we can be strengthened in the identity that He is producing in us, and to create in us reserves of faith to withstand the onslaught of the enemy. Regardless of how it looks or feels, trust that this is working for your good! Philippians 1:10-12 – “for I want you always to see clearly the difference between right and wrong, and to be inwardly clean, no one being able to criticize you from now until our Lord returns. 11 May you always be doing those good, kind things that show you are a child of God, for this will bring much praise and glory to the Lord.” 12 And I want you to know this, dear brothers: Everything that has happened to me here has been a great boost in getting out the Good News concerning Christ.

God is the Perfecter- trust Him for the results! It is easy to desire perfection when confronted with the short comings, weaknesses, and flaws that we have. instead of desiring perfection that could not be naturally obtained, thank God for what He has already changed in you and in your life! He is not done with you yet, and as long as you keep moving forward in Him you will reach the destiny He has prepared for you. When you start wishing for perfection or idealistic outcomes, remember that every good and perfect gift comes from God and that when He blesses us, He adds no sorrow to it.      Philippians 3:12-14 – 12 I don’t mean to say I am perfect. I haven’t learned all I should even yet, but I keep working toward that day when I will finally be all that Christ saved me for and wants me to be. 13 No, dear brothers, I am still not all I should be, but I am bringing all my energies to bear on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, 14 I strain to reach the end of the race and receive the prize for which God is calling us up to heaven because of what Christ Jesus did for us.

James 1:17-18 – 17 Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. 18 He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created.

Proverbs 10:22 – The blessing of the Lord brings [true] riches,
And He adds no sorrow to it [for it comes as a blessing from God].

Let’s Pray: Father God, thank you for You love, patience, mercy, and grace towards us. Lord You bear with us all things, even our weaknesses, short comings, and issues that You desperately want to liberate us from. Lord we are grateful for this time of cleansing, sanctification, and consecration before You. We recognize and acknowledge that it is Your grace, mercy, love, and forgiveness that empowers us to mature in our relationship with You and to be prepared for the seasons ahead. Lord we offer our praise, worship, love, attention, and every broken place to You. We turn over anything that requires Your administration not ours. We ask for Your help through this time of transition into the promises and plans that You have arranged for us. Lord help us to rise to the occasion and release Your glory and power in every place that weakness and insufficiency is hiding out. Lord You never abandon Your projects unfinished and everything that You put Your hands to is perfect, whole, and complete, so please put Your hands on us in the mighty name of Jesus. We thank You Lord that out of this time of self examination before You, will come greater sensitivity to Your leading, prompting, and guidance of Your voice, increased fellowship with You, and all of the equipping, development, and training we need for the seasons ahead. Lord thank You for this opportunity to get closer to You and to be delivered from all that is not working in us, for us, or not working for Your kingdom and glory. We apply the Blood of Your Son Jesus to every area of weakness in our lives and sphere of influence in the authority of Christ and call forth healing, restoration, recovery, and deliverance in the mighty name of Jesus! Lord thank You for all of this in Jesus name. AMEN!
